World Blood Donor Day was celebrated on 14th June 2024. The event was organized by Department of Transfusion Medicine at Lisie Hospital, Ernakulam and Lisie College of Allied Health Sciences. The program began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome speech from Rev. Sr. Mercitta FCC, Lab Incharge. Rev. Dr. Paul Karedan, Director of Lisie Hospital and Lisie Medical &Educational Institutions, inaugurated the event. Rev Fr Reju Kannampuzha (joint director-Lisie Hospital) presided over the function. Dr. Remi Ramakanth, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Blood Center, delivered the theme speech. Dr. Annie Jojo, Head of the Department of Pathology, gave felicitation speech, expressing appreciation for the voluntary blood donors. Various competitions were held for students and hospital staff in related to the Blood Donor Day, with prizes distributed by Dr. Shabeer S. Iqbal, Principal of Lisie College of Allied Health Sciences, Ernakulam. Rev. Sr. Rosna CSN, in charge of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, extended heartfelt gratitude, and the official program concluded with the Lisie Anthem. Students from the D.MLT 2022 batch performed a flash mob to raise awareness.
